Northwest Park
Northwest Park is located at 998 Parkside Valley Drive and includes several features for use by the community. The playground includes an open area for toddlers, a play unit designed for 2-5 year olds, and a larger unit designed for 5-12 year olds. The picnic shelter includes restrooms and eight picnic tables. There are two more tables outside the shelter. There is also a walking track built around an open play field and plenty of benches where you can sit and read or just relax and unwind.
The park design incorporates several environmentally friendly stormwater treatment concepts. There are four types of stormwater control measures (SCM) at this park that remove pollutants in rainfall runoff prior to flowing into the adjacent stream. That stream flows to Jordan Lake, which serves as the drinking water reservoir for Morrisville and surrounding communities. Each SCM is purposely integrated into the site to maximize usable land while serving multiple needs.
