Getting to Dix Park
Two options for free event parking! Hop on a free shuttle from downtown to join the festivities. Shuttles start at 5:30 p.m.
Free event parking is available!
City of Raleigh downtown parking decks:
- Moore Square Parking Deck – 223 S. Wilmington Street
- Red Hat/City Center Parking Deck – 429 S. Wilmington Street
- NC State University Centennial Campus
- Designated surface lots off Main Campus Drive and Initiative Way
- Partners Way Deck – 851 Partners Way
- Oval West Deck – 914 Partners Way
Free Park and Ride – Shuttle
- Shuttles pick up from Moore Square Park
- Shuttles drop off at the intersection of Centennial Parkway and Blair Drive
- From the drop off is a .2 miles/5 min walk up Blair Drive to the Big Field
- Shuttles from downtown to Dix Park will run 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Shuttles back to Moore Square Park begin following the fireworks
Food Truck Court (6 p.m. to 10 p.m.)
- 40 food trucks curated by Shop Local Raleigh
- Open throughout the entire event
Family Activity Zone (6 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
- Art activities with Artsplosure
- Water slides, scavenger hunt, and a foam party pit
- We recommend families bring a change of clothes for the kids.
Stage Entertainment (6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.)
- 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Music with DJ Rickey Smith
- 7 p.m. t0 8 p.m. Community Dance led by Cuquig
- 9 p.m. t0 9:30 p.m. ABC11 Live and Firework Countdown
Important!
- Pack light and plan accordingly for the distances between event parking and shuttles (or Family/Rideshare Drop-off) and the Big Field viewing area
- No shuttle service from Centennial Campus event parking – walk only to Dix Park
- Last shuttle leaves Moore Square Park at 9 p.m.
ADA/Accessibility Parking
- Enter at Goode Street from Lake Wheeler Road and follow event staff directions to designated parking lots
- ADA shuttle will pick up from those parking lots and take attendees to the Big Field
- Accessible pathway into the Big Field
No ticket or registration needed
No sign-up or registration is necessary. Enjoy this festive, free event with your Raleigh community. All are welcome!
Walk or Bike
- Use the Rocky Branch Greenway to enter at Hunt Drive and Western Boulevard.
- Use the Centennial Bikeway Connector to enter at Blair Drive and Centennial Parkway.
- Bike parking with volunteer attendants available at the intersection of Hunt Drive and Umstead Drive.
Ride Share/Family Drop-off
- Chapel Parking Lot at 1030 Richardson Drive
- Vehicles enter at S. Boylan Avenue off of Western Boulevard
What to bring
- A refillable water bottle
- Blanket and/or camp chairs for seating
- Food and non-alcoholic drinks, small cooler or bag permitted
- Sunscreen, hats, bug spray, flashlights, and closed-toe shoes are recommended
- Personal sized umbrellas are permitted
