Teen Council
Teen council is free to join and open to all teens rising from 7th to 12th grade. This program will provide teens with a safe space and an opportunity to learn leadership skills, participate in special events with the Town such as the Haunted Trail and Annual Tree Lighting events, and serve as advocates for teens in Fuquay-Varina in terms of recreation programs and events. The Teen Council helps the Parks and Recreation Department increase community service and recreation opportunities for teens. Teen Council participates in all special events, organizes events for teens, promotes the department, recruits new members, and serves as exemplary citizens.
Events Teens Participate, Volunteer with or Organize: Tree Lighting, Celebrate Fuquay-Varina, Egg Hunt, Monthly Events and Trips, Annual Clothing and Food Drives, Haunted Trail, Creating Holiday Cards for Nursing Homes, Charity Car Washes, July 3rd Celebration Event, Teen Art Classes, Teen Day
Teen Council Meets: Every other Monday at the Community Center
Ages: Rising 7th – Up to Senior Graduation
Meeting Time: 6:00pm – 6:30pm. Time may vary depending on meeting itinerary.
